Pursuing a Law Degree with our programme, especially designed for individuals with work experience, offers a comprehensive understanding of legal principles and practical skills essential for a career in law. The program’s focus on practical application is demonstrated through work experience placements. These opportunities allow you to apply your theoretical knowledge in practical settings, enhancing your legal acumen and providing insights into current challenges in the legal field.

Our partnerships with the Ealing Advice Service and the West London Equality Centre further enrich your learning experience. You will have the chance to engage in activities like community legal counselling, working with law advisory services and centres, and gaining firsthand experience through marshalling with judges and shadowing lawyers.

Upon completing the degree, graduates are well-equipped to pursue a professional qualifications necessary to become a solicitor or barrister. The skills and experiences gained from the programme prepare you for various roles within the legal sector, from legal practice in firms to positions in public service or corporate environments. The degree also serves as a foundation for further specialisation in areas of law, depending on your career interests and objectives.

Course details and modules

We aim to give you a well-rounded education in all aspects of the law, so you will experience:

pre-course support to help you prepare for your studies
field trips to locations such as the European Court of Human Rights, Supreme Court, Old Bailey, Inns of Court
overseas study trips
regular mooting competitions – your chance to practice your skills in a simulated courtroom scene
the opportunity to compete for student prizes.

The LLB Law course is the first step towards obtaining the necessary knowledge to embark on the subsequent professional qualifications to become either a solicitor or a barrister.

Our law degree lets you focus on applying knowledge in practice, using real-world legal scenarios. All modules are taught with reference to current legal practice in order to keep you up to date with ongoing changes in the profession. As you work towards attaining your LLB degree, you will develop a thorough understanding of the complexities of the legal system and enhance key skills to help you navigate your new career.

You will also have the chance to learn from the wisdom and experience of leading guest speakers, including academics, barristers, judges, and solicitors. Their expertise will raise your awareness of how the law operates in the real world.

Work experience

Throughout your degree, you will be encouraged to gain work experience that allows you to put what you have learned into context in a professional work environment. You could work with an agency, such as the Citizens Advice Bureau or the Free Representation Network, Ealing Advice Service, West London Equality Centre and several other local and national services.
